New Awards
We here at The Aerie Institute are always trying to find new ways to provide information to people who may or may not have access to it earlier. This includes public service announcements (from our Immunology department), or developing a new scale (from our Literature department) to provide a reliable basis for comparison of books we like (the definitive work on which is still in progress).
This time, our Media department has come up with a new idea to recognise the Great Television Serials we have watched over the time. And so, without any further ado, let me present to you,
*Drum Roll*
The Amye Awards for Excellence in Television Programming (known as The Amye Awards in short, pronounced Amy)
The awards will recognise the contribution of the television to improvement of human life. Since we at the Aerie believe in circular time, the awards will be presented without consideration of the time period in which the program was aired (which makes sense in current era of re-runs). Also, the award will be given to television programs in any area.
And, the first awards go to:
*Drum Roll with a close-up of all nominies*
Please join me in a standing ovation for the winners...
P.S. For all curious toms, the "e" at the end of name was added for numerological reasons.

hahahaha.... the last line was the best...
cant give inputs for nominating india television programmes.. becuase i dont have the capapcity to watch them... ;)
and abt that ratings blog - i dont agree with a '10' to himesh... i adore his songs!!! ;)
FYI - these days he is taking 22 lakhs for 1 show.. and a movie on his life is also being made.. starring who else - himesh himself!!!
LOLLLLLLLLLLL
So hilarious post! But it took a lot to go thru all the links provided there. Thanks for yes minister link. :)
LOl@your diff depts.. and the Award name is quite awesome ;)
I have seen 'yes minister' on TV. Also the hindi version where Farookh Shiekh was the minister. It was equally funny.
Hmmm your choice matches mine ;).. I too would have given Himesh a 10/10. Its not sore throat.. he sings from the nose :P
Also, request the committee to go thru the pending works like upgradation of the scale for review. Last time when I enquired, I was told that the committee is working upon it.
Since the committee is a 3 member team I don't see any reasons for further delay. :P
@Keshi: Welcome, welcome back...
@Sid: There are some Indian programmes in line for awards, watch the space (need some time).
Last line as in "Sun newspaper" or PS in the post?
And a letter from our Literature department for you:
"we are literature department, not music... we just put it up because we felt majority of people would understand that. It will be changed to 'or your least favourite singer' in the next version."
@Cuckoo: I like to backlink to my own blog, increases page-rank, you know ;)
About Himmesh, PuLa has described someone as "a frog with severe head cold". You know where this is going...
And about the scale, since 2 out of 3 members are busy, any inputs on that scale will be welcome.
You are soooo funny !!!
LOLLLLLLLLLL
Can't stop laughing.. you made my day. thanks.
Well, then ask the third member to do it or throw open for discussions but beware !! It should not lead to a scene like our parliament (Can't imagine how online chair/chappal throwing would look like):P
@Cuckoo: Told you, it is open for anybody to change and improve... Just leave me a comment so that I can change it on my blog for others to see (with ref who updated it of course) :)
And online chappal throwing? Don't we have enough spam and firing already? Keep the internet clean...
LOL the post is sooooooooo funny!
**For all curious toms, the "e" at the end of name was added for numerological reasons.
ROFL!
Keshi.
@fleiger: i meant the P.S...
adding of e for numerology sake...:)
thanks for taking viewer's view in considering the ratings in future...
and there is no harm in expanding your ratings to music too... everyone would love that!!
regd himesh - next time when you hear him, look for the feelings, the emotion behind his voice... it comes directly from Dil Se ;)
@Sid and Keshi: Oh, apparently there already are awards by the names "Amy" and "Amie" which were our first and second choices. And our legal department felt that spoofing their possible copyrighted names might be numerologically prohibitive, if you know what I mean ;)
haha!
Keshi.
